See What I See

“What does it look like on that side of the Fence?”

The question was simple enough. The answer required effort.

“Do you really want to know? Do you want to see what I am seeing over here?”

“Yes. What do you see?”

“Let me show you. Take that Path you see on your left and follow the Fence until you come to the Uncrossable Stream. The Path ends there but you can then follow the Stream until you come to the Cataracts. Just past the Cataracts is a series of Stones where the Stream is just shallow enough to reveal them. Walking carefully, cross the Stream. You will come to a Hillock, short but steep. Climb that. On the other side is a Thicket with a Narrow Footpath. Follow the Footpath until you come back to the Fence. Be careful of the Thistles! There you will see a Gate. Follow the Footpath through the Gate. At the Fork in the Footpath, take the right and continue. The Footpath will cross the Stream where it is shallow and slow. And then you will see me. And I can show you what I see.”

“Never mind. The view is better over here.”
